Letters to Our Daughters

It is sad how fast time goes by.
I feel like just yesterday I wrote Peyton's letter.
In that month we've had a sixth birthday, Easter and a trip to the East coast.
How is it that time just passes us by?
How is it that I now have a 10 year old, a 7 and a half year old, and a six year old?
I sometimes wish I could just freeze time and keep you all my little girls forever.
I am so not ready for what will come in the future (middle/high school, boys, all the
drama that I know girls bring).
I know that you are all good girls...sweet, kind and respectful.
I wish I could just wrap you all up in my love and keep you safe from the world.
Instead I'll just have to trust.  And that's hard.
I love you all to pieces.

Please continue on in our blog circle to Darleen's blog
to see her letter to her son!

I know what you mean about wanting to wrap them up and protect them from everything in the world! Being a mom is tough sometimes!

What a gorgeous photo of your girls at the beach! Time is flying by, I feel like that's especially the case as we start the summer months.

I was just talking about this very thing with my husband this weekend... our daughter is almost 2 and we laughed about how much we worry for her now, when in the blink of an eye we'll have a whole slew of things like school and boys and drama with friends to worry about. It sounds like you're handling the thought of it with grace and optimism, though. And how great that they'll have each other as they navigate all those challenges in a few years. :)

It is so bittersweet to watch our babies grow up. I love watching them grow, but I also want to keep them small forever. Lovely letter!

I was thinking the other day how worried I was the entire time I was pregnant with Isla and besides being excited to meet her, I was just so relieved that she would be here and breathing and I could stop worrying if she was okay in there! Looking back, that was the safest she probably ever was!
Each stage comes with new things to worry about! So this is how our moms got their gray hair :)
But not only do they have an awesome mama, they've got each other. And 3 girls, together, can definitely take on the world! :)
