Merry Christmas!!! (aka it's about time!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Since it's been forever since I posted (Easter!!) I guess I should catch everyone up first :)

Laynie started 2nd grade this year-she is doing great! I swear, this kid was made for school. She is still skating and is playing soccer now too-she's great at it! I love watching her play-she definately did not get her athleticism from her mom, that's for sure. Riley is in pre-k and is doing well. She missed the kindergarden cutoff by 1 day...which at first frustrated me, but now I think it will be good for her to be the oldest. She is also playing soccer, which really just means she runs around a lot and kicks the ball if it happens to go by. She has fun though, so that's good. Peyton is in preschool 5 mornings a week, she is doing great! She loves all the kids and has a ton of fun. I do think she is starting to realize that she is shorter than the other kids and I'm getting a lot of comments from her about wanting to be taller, and "when I'm big like Laynie"...I try to answer her honestly but she just doesn't get it at her age. I'll take any input on that one that is offerred! She is also doing dance class, which she LOVES!

Unfortunately she had a sleep study in November, and she is having her tonsils and adenoids out this Thursday. I feel bad she has to go through it but I know it's needed. Still not easy though!

Keith and I are doing well! I was so busy with school this past semester it was crazy. I still love it, but all the studying was getting to me. I only have one semester left-unbelieveably!! I go back on the 11th of January and finish in May. Only 5 months to go til I'm an RN!! :)

Happy 3rd Birthday Peyton!

Today was Peyton’s 3rd birthday! It was kind of sad in a way that my last baby is already 3. The time has just flown by. She has grown into such a sweet girl, I just love her to pieces. She goes to preschool 2 mornings a week and loves it. She always talks about her “kids”. We had a bbq today for her and for Easter-it was a great time! Peyton got some great presents, I didn’t get pictures of all of them yet though.

To start off today the girls checked out their baskets and found eggs! Then Pey opened her presents from us.

Later in the day we had a party for Peyton, complete with another egg hunt for the girls and their cousins Jack and Aiden – followed by some pool time!

Wait, I have a Blog????

It’s been forever! I really thought I’d be able to update somewhat during school…but no one told me nursing school would make life so hectic. Okay, so multiple people did. But I didn’t believe them! I start back this week, so I’ll make no promises…but for now here’s an update!

The girls are all doing great! Laynie is doing great in first grade, and was doing gymnastics but has since gone back to figure skating. Riley loves preschool and started dance class, which she loves. Peyton loves going to school 2 mornings a week and we are trying to get her potty trained. She is a bit stubborn though, and likes to tell us no when we ask her to go. But we are getting there! As for me, I managed to pass my first semester with a B, so I’m happy. I love school, and can’t wait to be a nurse.

The girls had a great Christmas…we did a lot of fun stuff this year. We went to Disney for a couple of days and saw the Osborne Light Show, which is great-it even snows! Santa brought the girls WAY too many presents…but it was all good stuff so it’s okay. We also went on a quick road trip after New Years – Pey had her checkups at Hopkins, so we drove up there by the way of Asheville, NC and got to see snow. It was FREEZING, but pretty cool. The morning we were there it was actually snowing which the girls loved. Living in Florida they don’t get to see that. We then went on to Richmond where we had dinner with Kim and the adorable Preston. Peyton liked him, but I have to say I think Riley was more smitten…they had fun chasing each other around outside afterwards! The next day we went to Baltimore and had dinner at my cousin Julie’s house…it was nice to be out of a restaurant/hotel for the night! We had a really great time there and Riley LOVED their dog (you will see in the pictures)!

Peyton’s appointments went beautifully (all 3 of them)! Dr’s Hoover-Fong, Carson, and Ain all gave her stellar reports and barring any troubles we don’t have to go back for a year. We are thinking of pushing it to a year and a half so we can travel up there when it’s a bit warmer!

Riley and Peyton’s First Days

Riley’s first day of school was Monday, and Peyton’s was Tuesday. Riley loved her class and teachers and had a really great time!

I had school on Tuesday, so I didn’t get to take Peyton for her first day. I was a little bummed, but at least Keith got to bring her and she did pretty good! No tears at least, so that was good.

Riley likes to do this thing where she poses with her head to the side…I’m not sure why! Today is Riley’s 4th birthday! I’ll take some pictures later on…she can’t wait to open her presents tonight. I started school last week and it’s going pretty well! No pictures of my first day though :)

Today was Laynie’s first day of school…she was so excited, not nervous at all! I think Riley and Peyton miss her though, they don’t start school until next week. Here are some pictures from this morning -

Summer

The summer is almost over, the girls (and me) start school next week! We’ve had a good time, but I’ve been an awful blogger!! So I’ll attempt to get caught up and try my best to keep up on it (I think you’ve all heard that song before)…

Back in July we went on a cruise with both my parents and Keith’s parents. It was such a great time! Laynie cried for a week afterwards that she missed the boat! Here are some (meaning a lot) of pics from it!

Laynie went rock climbing, and made it all the way to the top on the first try…I tried it as well. And made it about 2 feet up. We met some dolphins, went to some beautiful beaches, drank Red Stripe in Jamaica (and Grand Cayman)…it was wonderful. I can’t wait to go on another cruise in the future.

We also went to the beach a lot…as you know my girls are beach bums and would live there if given the choice! We went this morning and the weather was perfect! It wasn’t even too hot!

Peyton loved to be pulled around by Riley on the body board…she tried pulling Riley around too. I love how wonderfully they get along at the beach. There’s no fighting, arguing, telling on each other…it’s bliss.

We also met a family from the East Coast of Florida in Orlando for a weekend. I met Shannon when she emailed me after finding out her 3-year old son has Pseudochondroplasia. They have 3 kids as well, and it was great to meet them. I didn’t get any really good pics, I think keeping up with 6 kids at a pool made it difficult! Laynie got along great with their older son, Walker. When we went to dinner they even sat at one end of the table together like a date :) We had such a great time, and we hope to get to get together with them again soon! I did get a great picture of Laynie with Walker:

I’ll put one last album of pics, these are just a bunch from the rest of the summer…the pool, Disney, more Disney :) It was a great summer, but I’m ready for school to start! I know it’s going to be overwhelming with me starting as well, but I’m anxious to get into a routine. And I’m also hoping I’m not getting too in over my head! Hope everyone enjoyed the pictures…I’ll try to update more often so I don’t have to do actual albums and can just post a few pics!!

Worst Blogger Award

So I know that they have awards for great blogs and stuff....do they have one for the worst?? Because I think I would be a shoe-in for that one! I realized it has been 2 months since I last posted!! I wish I had a good reason (was abducted by aliens, computer broke down, dog ate my thoughts)...but there just isn't one! Hopefully I will get caught up now!! We had Riley's dance recital last month...she was so cute! We also went to Sea World and Cocoa Beach since school got out.

We leave tomorrow for a 7-night cruise with Keith's parents and my parents. We are excited for it, but I still in shock over how much stuff 5 people need for a week! It's crazy! I will be sure to post after we get back with lots of pictures!! I can't wait to come home and read everyone's blogs about the conference...you all better take a lot of pictures!!

My Awesome Mother's Day Present

My wonderful, wonderful husband surprised us with a trip down to the keys for Mother's Day. We went down last Wednesday and stayed through Saturday. The place he got was a beach house resort in Marathon, and the house was right on the beach. It was absolutely wonderful! Our girls are in love with the beach, and it was right off the back porch.

Here are some pictures of the girls having fun on the beach...sorry for so many, but consider yourself lucky-I took around 400 pictures, so this really isn't that many :)

I know it's been FOREVER since my last post (if you don't count my pay it forward one that is). I don't have much of an excuse...really I'm just a slacker. The sad part is I LOVE to read everyone's blogs, and check them a few times a day (ok, now I know I need to get a life:) So here we go! Here are a few from Easter:

We went to a snow day/ice skating thing that my friend Sharon was sooooo nice to organize! It was a lot of fun, and Riley was trying to make snow angels. But the snow was really the ice scrapings in a huge pile! But in Florida that's about all you can get!

I can't believe it's almost the end of April already! It seems like time is just flying by us these days. I can't wait to relax this summer with the girls. I start nursing school in the fall so I know my free time will be sparse, so I want to soak in as much fun with them as I can until then!

So...I am sad to say that I have been cheated on.

I received a call a few weeks back from Keith telling me that he had met someone else.

I was a little disturbed to hear that, as I thought we had a pretty good marraige.

Since I love my husband so much, I agreed that "she" could come live with us. Provided that she helped with the cooking, of course.

A few days later, she arrived with all her stuff.

We've adjusted quite well...she's a heck of a cook!

I took a couple of pictures so everyone could meet this new addition to our family.

:) Yup, he got a new grill. It does propane on one side, charcoal in the middle and is a smoker on the end. It's awesome, if I do say so myself. Not that I'm allowed to use it.

Peyton is going to be 2 on April 4th, I took a few pictures today to put on her invitations. She was being a ham!

Laynie, LuLu, Booger-butt...

I know it's been a while since Riley's special post, but better late than never, right?? This time it's Laynie's turn. What can I say about my Laynie? Well, she was my first baby...and it took us what felt like an eternity to have her! We decided pretty soon after we got married in 2000 that we didn't want to wait very long to start a family. It took us over a year to get pregnant, which in hindsight wasn't too bad, but when everyone around you is getting pregnant like it's the easiest thing in the world it can be a little trying. So when I finally got my positive test it was hard to believe! But sure enough...we got our Laynie. She's always been a very friendly, outgoing and sweet girl. She loves to dance around the house, ride her bike (especially with her Dad), and she is a great artist! She will make at least 4-5 things a day, sometimes more. She started Kindergarten in the fall and absolutely loves it, and also takes ice skating lessons. She is so much fun to be around and is a great big sister. I get sad sometimes seeing her grow up though, I feel like 6 years have gone by so fast, it's hard to believe. I wish I could just freeze time, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way! So we just enjoy every moment with our girl...and take lots of pictures, of course!

There will be one more new post to come...hopefully later today or tomorrow! And don't forget to check for the other one I just did!

Two New Posts...don't get too excited!

I know, it's been forever since I've posted. I don't really have an excuse...I'm just a poor excuse for a blogger. Anyways...I'll start off with just a couple of cute pics of Riley. She was being my model again :)

Here's a couple of the girls playing outside. We live on a cul-de-sac with a bunch of other kids, so it's nice for the girls when it's nice out. Peyton insisted on wearing her helmet (size 8-12 year old:)

On Valentine's day we went out to lunch with my parents. The restaurant we went to has a little alligator pond in the back where you can feed them with a fishing pole. The girls thought it was great!

We went to Disney at the end of February...we had a really great time! The girls slept good, behaved good and were generally just pretty fun. Every evening on the Boardwalk (where we were staying) they have street performers and Laynie just loves it! She got to be the assistant for one of the magicians this time, but it was too dark to get any good pictures of it. But here is a cute one of them sitting watching a show.

I have a slight obsession with pictures of Peyton from behind...I just think it's so cute. I can't wait til bathing suit season...

We all squeezed into one teacup...it was so much fun! The girls all loved it, and luckily we hadn't eaten lunch yet :)

Every morning when the Magic Kingdom opens they have a big celebration..the train comes bringing a bunch of the characters to open the park. It's pretty cool to see when you get there early enough!
That's all for this post, I have a couple more to come! Sorry it's so boring after all this time, other than going to Disney there hasn't been too much going on (unless you count illnesses...if so I can post a lot!)

So this is basically a test...I got a new camera and I'm trying to make sure I like it. The video quality is pretty good, but it takes them in a weird format that when converted to the right kind of file sometimes get a little pixelated...I'm trying to figure out if I can fix it. In the meantime...here's the first one! It's Riley singing about Ariel..she's hard to understand her but it's still cute.

Yup. She decided she wanted bangs apparently. Luckily she wears a headband every day of her life, so it shouldn't be too bad. She also didn't cut them too short, so they aren't too bad. As you can see she was a little upset about being in time out!

All About Riley

Since the blog tends to be so much about Peyton, I thought I'd devote a post just to Riley (I'll do Laynie next!) I've been trying to learn how to use my camera, and yesterday and today she agreed to be my model. We had fun, and I think they came out okay. Riley is in preschool 3 mornings a week and she loves it. We have her conference tomorrow with her teacher, I can't wait to see what she says! She is also taking dance classes Saturday mornings, which she loves. She is a very sweet girl, but also has a bit of an ornery streak. I just love her to pieces. I know it's hard for her sometimes, she was only 19 months when Peyton was born...very much still our baby. She had to share us before she was ready to! She is becoming a great big sister...especially now that Peyton thinks she is 3 too (or 6, depending on if Laynie's home). So here are some pictures of our beautiful Riley...my special girl. Enjoy!

Pey-Pey and Pres

So we made it to Baltimore and back! We left early Thursday morning and got home Saturday afternoon. On Friday, Peyton saw Dr. Ain and Dr. Hoover-Fong. Her appointments went great, she is doing wonderfully! Friday night we met Kim and Preston for dinner...it was great! I have to say...every time we meet people from the blogs (Cat and Owen, Destini and Trace) I have been amazed at how it seems like we already know them. This was no exception! When I found out about Peyton having dwarfism and first posted to the POLP group (when I was still pregnant), Kim was the first person to respond to me with a very sweet email. So I have to say it was so great to meet her in person almost 2 years later. And no matter how cute Preston looks on the blog-he is even cuter in person (same goes for Owen and Trace, we seriously have some handsome boys around here!). Here are some pics from their date...I think Preston liked Peyton, after he got over not seeing the silly chicken. Maybe next time Peyton will bring a chicken with her for him :)

All in all, driving wasn't bad! We got to have actual conversations for 3 days whenver we wanted without being interrupted. That was amazing. But I missed my Laynie and Riley and was happy to come home to them.

Flying

The title of this post applies to two things. First...Keith was supposed to be flying to Baltimore this week to take Peyton to her appointments at Hopkins. Now, we hate to fly to begin with...only do it when necessary. So! When a plane decided to "land" in the Hudson River, we started to think about this whole trip. It now looks like Keith, Peyton and I will be driving up to Hopkins and leaving Laynie and Riley home with the Grandparents. It will be a quick trip, leaving Thursday morning and coming home Saturday afternoon. It is kind of crazy, I know, but we will feel more comfortable with it. Plus, it will have the added benefit of meeting Kim and Preston for dinner on our way through Richmond! We are excited about that part of the plan....it is so exciting to get to meet in person! Peyton is scheduled to see Dr. Hoover-Fong and Dr. Ain. We hope to get a good report, as always.

The next thing the title refers to is this picture of my Laynie on the swing this afternoon...I thought it was pretty cool! Do you think we might be in trouble with this one? Look at this face. She is such a wiseguy...I love it.

Last One!

So this is my third and final post of the night! I really need to post more often so that I don't have so much to do at one time!!

This is Laynie and Riley on New Year's Eve...right before they went to bed at 8:30. My girls are party animals. These are just a few random ones of the girls...

Saturday morning we went over to Clearwater beach for a while...the girls had fun running on the beach. It was the first time that Peyton actually walked in the sand...she doesn't particularly like it. The other 2 are beach bums, so hopefully it grows on Peyton!

Saturday night we went to my parents house for dinner. My niece Lindsay came up with her daughter Jocelyn who is 2 months younger than Peyton. The girls all had fun together!

Today was Riley's first day back at school, but Laynie was still off. So after school we went to the park for lunch and playtime with friends! It was great for Laynie to get to play with Lennon. They go to different schools and since they get out so late in the afternoon it's hard for them to get to play together.

Hope you enjoyed all the pictures! I also wanted to talk about something (I rarely just talk on here, mainly because my thoughts usually come out all jumbled up) that I was wondering if any other LP moms (or Dads) think about. I was watching a DVD of pictures from my cousin's wedding the girls were in and was reminded of something. I met a girl at the rehearsal (she was the sister of the groom, my cousin was the bride) who had a baby who was 6 months old. Peyton was over by her, and I noticed that when the boy was standing up, they were just about the same height (Pey was 17 months at the time)...it was a little upsetting to me. It's always striking for me to have that moment when I realize how much shorter Peyton is...it's easy to forget about it. Anyways, I went over to talk to the girl and within a few minutes she was asking me about Peyton. I never asked how she knew, I assume my cousin told her. I thought it was so nice of her to come right out and talk to me about it. I always feel like everyone thinks I'll get upset or embarrassed if they bring it up. Like it's a taboo subject. And it isn't for me, not at all. It is who Peyton is and I wouldn't change her if I could. Back to my story...I told you I can't just talk...at the wedding Peyton was dancing up a storm, and gaining quite a bit of attention from everyone. I was standing watching her, with the same girl, and about 3 times people came over to me and asked how old she was, and then said the typical "oh she's so little!" "she's so cute and petite!" comments that I hear everywhere I go. The girl looked at me after the last one walked away and just said "Does that get old??" I tell you at that moment I loved her. It was so refreshing to have someone who wasn't afraid to say something. Anyway...I was just wondering if anyone else feels the same? Like you just wish people would be more open and not act like it's something bad that you want to avoid talking about. For us, it's just Peyton. I don't want her difference to define her, but I don't want to pretend it doesn't exist either. We do have some friends that talk and ask about it, and I'm glad for that. Let's face it, unless you know someone with dwarfism you likely know very little about it. I know I knew nothing! So please, just ask...I don't mind, I promise. Ok, I'm done. From now on I will stick with simple pictures!!

Christmas Eve we went to Keith's parents house for dinner, and we tried to get a picture of the 5 cousins all together...it kind of worked. Well the together part anyway. There was no way to get them all to smile/look in the same place! But they are cute anyway...

Long time, no post! I have a lot of pictures to post, so there will be a few posts coming. I thought for once I would break it all up instead of doing one mammoth post that no one probably stays awake til the end of anyway! Riley was a present for her school Christmas show...she was so cute!

Although Laynie's birthday was at the beginning of the month, the weekend before Christmas we had a small party for her. She had 3 of her girlfriends (and their little sisters) over, they wore their pjs, fixed their hair, nails, makeup...basically acted like girls. They all had a great time! Here is Riley and Campbell...

So! Here we go again! There will be an obnoxious amount of pictures once again, but it has to be done! Last weekend was Keith's company's Christmas party. Santa came, and the girls liked him, well two of them liked him I should say. Peyton wouldn't go anywhere near him.

Santa brought all the kids presents, which was awesome. Laynie got a skateboard, which she has been asking for for 6 months, so she was beyond excited. Riley got a Sleeping Beauty doll and Peyton got a learning laptop. They all loved their presents!

Last Sunday was Laynie's 6th birthday. It's crazy how fast time goes, I feel like just yesterday she was my little baby.

Friday night we went to cookies with Santa at Riley's school, I didn't get a good picture of the girls with Santa, but I did get some with their friends! This is Peyton with Bennett and his mommy Brenda.

Laynie and Lennon met when they were in the 2-year pre-school class together and were fast friends! Luckily our other children are within months of each other as well, so it works out great! Not to mention that Brenda and I get along great as well, so it makes playdates fun. This is Laynie, Lennon, Campbell and Riley.

Finally, today we went over to Disney to meet up with Destini and family! We met them at Hollywood studios and went to the Playhouse Disney show and to play on the playground. We had a great time, and the kids got along great. Trace is such a cutie! I loved his little grin, it was just adorable. We got some great pictures of the kids...even a kissy one. Peyton seems to have a way with the boys!!

National Conference

We are going, and as of now are getting there Saturday the 4th and leaving for home Thursday.

WARNING: there is some serious picture overload here (although you already figured that out by the title). Last weekend we went to Disney for a couple of days. One of the best things about where we live is being able to go pretty often.

Finally...we got to meet Owen yesterday! Cat's sister is getting married this Saturday, and she lives about an hour and a half from us. So we drove down and had lunch with Cat and Owen. We were also able to meet Cat's parents and sister Anne (who is hysterical, by the way!). We had such a great time...it was so nice to meet someone we've been talking to online for so long now! It's funny how it felt like I already knew them (I know those of you who've met know what I mean). It was also great to see Peyton with Owen...they were so cute together. And Owen, he is just even cuter in person (if you can imagine that)!

In lieu of anything interesting to talk about, I figured I would talk about nothing. Really I just want to keep my blog at the top of the list (you know, on sites like Katies where she actually has a nice list with most recent posts on top...as opposed to me who can't even remember to add people to my blog roll!) After reading Cat's last post, I am inspired to talk about our girls nicknames. And no, they aren't that interesting (hence the title of the post)...
When we had Laynie, I knew we wanted to call her Laynie, but I didn't want that to be her given name, so we named her Layne. Somehow, shortly after she was born we started calling her bugger-butt. I know, not a great name. But we still call her that at times...I also call her LuLu, because she loopy.
Riley for whatever reason became Ri-Ri, although it's not like it's shorter or easier to say or anything like that. I remember at first I was the only one calling her that, now everyone does. Even her teacher. I also like to call her Riley Roo-Roo. She gets all mad and tells me "I not Riley Roo-Roo, I Riley good-kid". I find that hysterical, because usually when she is yelling that at me she isn't being a good kid.
When we had Peyton, I swore we would not call her Pey-Pey. Mainly because all I think of when I hear that is Pepe le peu the skunk. But guess what we call her...yeah, Pey-Pey. It's a terrible name, but I can't help it...it's cute when it's for her.
So yeah, that's about it for the excitement of this post. I hope you are glad you wasted some of your life on it! We are going to Disney this weekend, and are meeting Owen (and his family too of course, they don't let him travel alone) next Wednesday. So hopefully there will be some good pics to share! Monday is also our 8th wedding anniversary, and while I did plan on scanning some pics to share, my scanner is broken. So unless that gets fixed soon there won't be any. It is supposed to get cold Sunday, right when we go to Disney-I'm so excited! I love to be cold there...it sucks walking around with sweat dripping off of you.

Again, my sympathies for those of you who read this...

Happy Halloween everyone! The girls had a great day. They got a ton of candy and I can't believe how many houses they went to! Peyton only trick or treated at a couple, she wasn't that into it this year. I can't wait til next year, then all three of them will be so much fun! Here are a couple of pics from the beach two weeks ago...hard to believe it was so hot that day and today it was a record low...although I heard it's snowing in New Jersey, so I guess it's not that bad!

We went to Laynie's friend Nina's birthday party last weekend, it was at a park with a train that took the kids (and parents) on a ride. It was pretty cool, Laynie loved it! Of course, Riley and Peyton wouldn't go on it.

Not Much to Report

There's not much new here, but I do have some new pictures to share! Laynie lost her first two teeth (in the dentists chair, poor thing) a couple weeks ago. She was very excited for the tooth fairy to come! Hopefully the next ones come out on their own. She is doing great in school, as is Riley. Peyton had her 18 month checkup...she is at the 50th percentile for her height and head circumference on the achondroplasia chart, and the Doctor was pleased with her development. She does need to start talking more, but she is stubborn and just gives you her little look when you try to make her. We aren't worried, Riley was a late talker, but it would be nice to know what she wants! The girls are excited for Halloween, I'm just praying it cools off by then! It is so hot still...I'm just over it. I'll have to start posting more often, as I'm sure there are a ton of things I'm forgetting about! Until then, enjoy the pictures!

New Jersey Trip

Laynie and Riley were flower girls in my cousin's wedding, so we made a whirlwind trip to New Jersey. We left here on a Wednesday, got there Thursday, had the rehearsal Friday, wedding Saturday, and left for home Sunday morning. It was hectic, but fun overall. We didn't get to do too much or see too many people while we were up there, hopefully when we come for the LPA conference we'll have more free time.

This is Laynie and Riley with my Pop-pop... We stayed in Point Pleasant Beach, about a block or two from the beach. We were able to get up on the boardwalk for a couple of hours...that was fun. I grew up about half an hour south of there, so it was nice to bring the girls to places I went to as a kid.

We found out that we have 3 dancing queens... you couldn't keep the girls off the dance floor. They were so cute! Peyton really loved the music as well, she would pick up her dress and spin around.

Disney World and Riley's Birthday!

So! I know it's been a while...I'll save the apologies (as I'm sure no one is that upset anyway! :)

September 2 was Riley's 3rd birthday! Here a some pictures of her with her cake...

Here she is in her new pjs. Riley is very picky about what she wears to bed...I took a deep breath when she opened these hoping that she would like them. Lucky for me she did!

This is Peyton after eating/wearing beef-a-roni. She looks similar to this after raviolis and macaroni and cheese as well.Labor day weekend we took a last minute trip to Disney for Keith and Riley's birthdays. We had a great time. It wasn't too hot due to the hurricane in the gulf and it wasn't crowded at all. Of course, the girls always have fun at Disney and did not want to come home!!

First Day of School

So last Monday was Laynie's first day of Kindergarten. She loves it! We miss having her home all day, but I'm glad she likes it.

That same afternoon, she decided she wanted to try to ride her bike without training wheels. Our wonderful neighbor Nancy was very kind and offerred to help Laynie. She has trained 2 boys to ride, one being Laynie's buddy Thompson, and we figured not only would she know what she was doing but Laynie wouldn't give her as hard of a time! It went well, and she is already able to get herself started!

I had to include this picture of Riley asleep on the couch. It was so cute. Until I realized she had peed all over it in her sleep. That was fun to clean up!

Here is a picture of Laynie skating. It isn't the greatest, it was much harder than I expected to get good pics...

Finally, today was Riley's first day of preschool. She will be going 3 mornings a week and she had a ball!

And last but not least...congratulations to myself for just completing my 50th post. :) This is shabby in comparison to Katie's 100th...but still worth mentioning. And since I didn't include any Peyton pics, I will leave you with one...

It's Been a While...

So! It's been a while...I won't bother giving excuses. Well I'll give just one. I've been too busy reading every night to update, so I'm doing it during the day this time. The girls are all doing well. Laynie starts kindergarten next week, she is excited, but also pretty nervous. Riley starts preschool in two weeks, so then I will have 3 mornings a week with just Peyton. How weird it will be to be with only one kid! And how easy. :)

So, I have lots of pics to share...the first 2 are from a "movie night" we did a couple weeks ago. We moved the ottoman and set up a blanket on the floor and all watched the Bee Movie. I admit, I didn't want to watch it because I am sooooo not a Jerry Seinfeld fan. But I really enjoyed it! So did the girls.

These are of Peyton in her first nightgown (which was Laynie's). Of course, it was too chilly in her room for her to actually sleep in it (I also have a sneaking suspicion I would find her without her diaper on), but we got a few cute pics.

And of course, Peyton loves her sunglasses!

Tuesday we went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa...the girls had fun. They pretended to milk a cow, build buildings, saw dinosaurs, and Laynie and I went in a hurricane booth. I'll have to get that pic from my Dad!!

Finally, Peyton is now walking! She's been trying for a while now, and a couple weeks ago reached the point where she doesn't crawl anymore, she just gets back up and keeps going! It's so cute (well, to me anyway).

I won't even bother pretending I'll post soon...I plan on it...I should have some good pictures coming up with school starting. But we all know I'm a slacker. Maybe when I finish these books...

I must, once again, be the big slacker (we should really give out awards for that...)! And once again, I will try to make up for it with an insane amount of pictures!! We went to Captiva last week for a little vacation and had a GREAT time! The girls would have lived in the pool if it was up to them. Enjoy the pictures!

Not much else is new. Peyton's tube surgery went well, I couldn't believe how fast it went! She is walking more and more (I'm trying to post a video, but blogger won't load it), which is amazing to us since we weren't expecting her to for a few more months at least. Laynie goes on her kindergarten tour next week, I think I'm still in denial that she's starting real school. I can't believe my first baby is that old already!! I turn 33 this Thursday, time is just going so fast! I remember my 30th like it was yesterday. Sometimes I just wish I could make time slow down for a while, I am just not ready for all this. I want my babies to stay babies...

Enough sappy stuff...I'd say it won't be so long til my next post, but then it will be and I'll not only be a blog slacker but a big fat liar as well and I can't have that!!

So, I know it's been forever since I posted, you are all welcome to come to Florida and yell at me. :) But now you will get picture overload to make up for it!! Here are some fun pool pics of the girls with Grandpa. Peyton loves to wear the mask, but only up on top of her head.

Peyton is obsessed with the kitchen cabinets, can you tell by her face that she knows she shouldn't be in there??

These are from the fourth, we went to a BBQ at Keith parents house. They live on Lake Tarpon, so we went out on the boat and Laynie loved the tube! She also loves to swim in the lake. I'm a wuss and won't because of the alligators. People tell me they stay in the shallow areas, but still. They freak me out.

On Sunday we went to my parents house for dinner, and went to their community pool. They have a huge pool with big steps to play on. The girls loved it!

Peyton goes in for her tubes this Thursday! I'm nervous but also anxious to get it done. I will update after the surgery. Next week we are going down to Captiva for a beach vacation. The girls absolutely love the beach so it should be a great time!

Busy Times

First...last Saturday was Riley's dance recital. She did an AWESOME job! I still can't believe she got up there in front of all those people and danced. I am so proud of my girl!! Those of you who know Riley know that she can be a little difficult at times. So to see her dance her heart out for everyone was one of those great mommy moments!!

On to Baltimore! We left on Sunday, and that night we met my cousin Julie, her husband Shawn and their daughter Laynie for dinner (we stole her name...in case you were wondering!) We had a really nice time, it was great to get to see them! Thanks again to them for coming to meet us!

I managed to get this picture of Peyton standing...she is getting pretty good at it!

The hotel had a complimentary beer/wine thing every evening, the girls had fun! (So did we!)

And this was from lunch at McCormick and Schmicks...very yummy!

Onto the important stuff...the Doctors. We saw Dr. Hoover-Fong first. She was very pleased with how Peyton is doing, especially how much her muscle tone has improved since January. She said it was almost the same as an average height child. (I credit the exersaucer we weren't supposed to use but bought for her birthday, but don't tell her that). We also talked about the results of the sleep study...which went well. Peyton only had central apnea, and there weren't many (I think 7 total, and she didn't desaturate), so we are good on that front for now anyway. She was, however, concerned that she has had 3 ear infections in the last 5 months. So she set us up with Dr. Tunkel and an audiologist Tuesday afternoon. The only problem was that we were supposed to be on a plane at that same time. So, a lot of money was spent to get a later flight...but whatever it takes to keep our kids healthy, right?

Tuesday morning we saw Dr. Ain. He was very pleased with how Peyton is doing and said the x-rays they took looked great. It's pretty cool because he went to school way back when with our pediatrician, which just makes us like both of them that much more. We really have a great pediatrician. I know I just said that, but it can't be said enough. And Dr. Ain is just awesome.

After that we saw Dr. Carson for the first time. That was cool, he's just such an inspiring man (as is Dr. Ain). He also thought she looked great and was very happy with where she's at. We were given a list of things to watch for and sent on our way.

Of course, you know everything can't go well....so now we'll talk about the ENT, Dr. Tunkel. Long story short, her hearing is being affected by the fluid in her ears and she needs tubes. Luckily, he knew of 2 Drs in our area that he worked with and recommended. We have an appointment with one of them July 1st, and hopefully we feel comfortable with him, because I really don't want to go up to Baltimore for the tubes.

Also, we got to meet Dee Miller during our appointment with Dr. Hoover. She came in to speak to us while we were waiting to see the Doctor. She has Achondroplasia just like Peyton, and it was so nice to meet her. She was so sweet and helpful...it meant a lot that she took the time to see us!

Last but not least was Laynie's dance recital tonight. She did a GREAT job, she is a really good dancer. It was a long show, and I'm thankful for all our family that sat through it!! Here are some pics from the night...

Today my mom, Riley, Peyton and I are off to Baltimore for Peyton's round of appointments. Can I just tell you how much I HATE to fly? So not looking forward to it. We are meeting my cousin Julie and her family for dinner tonight (she lives in Annapolis and is nice enough to make the drive) which will be nice because we haven't seen her in almost 10 years (I think)!

I know I don't usually write much, so I'll try to make up for it now! The girls are doing great. Laynie is finishing up her last year of preschool and is excited to start Kindergarden in the fall. She is in dance class and skating lessons right now, and she loves both. I'll have to try to get some pictures of her skating this week to post. Riley is doing great as well...she just gave up (not voluntarily, of course) her pacifier last Friday and is doing great. She was EXTREMELY attached to it, and it's amazing how easy it was. She has hardly even asked for it. She is taking dance lessons, which she loves; and swim class, which she doesn't like so much. She loves the pool, but not class. And now we are up to Peyton. She is just her usual crazy self. She is a silly girl, she loves to make faces and get your attention any way she can. She also just wants to do whatever it is her sisters are doing! Peyton is now crawling all over, and sitting, and standing at things. We go back to Baltimore in June for her checkups, which I expect to go smoothly. So that's all for us...enjoy all the new pictures!

I took the girls to the beach today, the weather was beautiful and we went early before it got crowded. They love the beach and always have so much fun.

Snow Day

One of the mom's at Laynie's school organized a snow day at the ice skating rink over spring break. The girls all had a great time skating and playing in the snow (even though it was 80 degrees outside!). It's the best you can get in Florida, so we'll take it!

Sunday afternoon we had a birthday party for Peyton. She had a great time, I think she likes having lots of people around. We had fun, and really appreciate all the great gifts she got, she is going to be the best dressed one-year old in town!! Enjoy the pics!

Peyton was baptized this past Sunday. Aunt Rosemary and Uncle Kevin were her godparents. It was a nice service, although Peyton was not very content to be held through it!!

Happy belated Easter everyone! We had a great day...the bunny hid eggs and brought some cool stuff for spring/summer for the girls! Peyton will turn 1 on Friday, which is just crazy to me. Time has just gone too fast, there's no way she is that old already. This past year has been exciting, scary and everything in between. But most of all it's been full of love for our family.

This past week Peyton has started sitting up much better and can now stand at her toys and play. She thinks it is the coolest thing ever and is now not content to play on the floor anymore. She looks so cute standing, of course I had to include a picture!! Note that it is dark out in the Easter pictures...our kids wake up way too early!!
